Why I am a Christian and no longer faithless!

Why be Christian? Why not believe nothing came from nothing? It is true that on a personal level I do not in any way need to have God proven to me because outside of the Life-changing work that God has accomplished inside of me, there is no evidence that could compare. But there are those that cannot believe until their mind engages their heart. Evidences outside the faith needed to touch God's heart are abundant both in science and in history to bring your mind to a place where you can by faith believe where that EVIDENCE LEADS YOU TO! Because for all the BIG TALK of people outside the Faith, all anyone wants is HARD CORE, SOLID EVIDENCE so that they may take the first step of faith! The worlds greatest HINDERANCE to trusting God is unfortunatly Religion itself, with its hard lifestyle and impossible faithless observances of nothing important. Do not get me wrong...interesting as religion can be it falls so far short of where God wants his people to be. To the true Christian "blind faith" is not an ethic at all, it does not exist within the confines of the real faith of God. God requires, he DEMANDS knowledgable faith from seeking his face through his creation. If you come to God with a question about your faith, God will not say "believe because I said so!" he will rather give you an answer from his heart which contains every evidence as the "Why? the What? the Where? and the How?" God is not a God who hides from view and fears investication as MOST RELIGIONS on earth do. He is not filled with secrets to hard to understand and dark beyond the most demonic blackness. His heart is fully open to the understanding mind and needful heart, I say this not because I am a minister of the Gospel but because God pulled me from the pit when I but cried out to him for help.

You have convinced yourself to believe something because you chose to. What is true in the universe is not changed by your imagination.

I will refrain from answering all the NICE COMMENTS contained here, not because there are no answers..there are answers if you are seeking them BUT since all of you resort to insults instead of real reasoning. This is what always happens when true faith is presented to unbelieving Atheists- insults, belittling, and silly arguments that don't match the questions in the first place. Don't get me wrong I respect your right to NOT believe, all I ask is one small favor: Actually reason out WITH me the answer to your questions, this is how real honest skepticism is done. Pure reason and pure faith NOT THE CRAP CALLED RELIGION THAT MAN INVENTED can live at total peace with each other. I do not and never will believe in God or a 'life after death' this in my eyes is the ultimate reality. nobody as yet has proven it any the other way.

I can see that you derive a great deal of comfort and support from your imaginary friend. I left mine looking after my teddy bear years ago and have not looked back since.

yawn bore... its better to believe in magic than facts? funny how that bible was written 30 years after all the miracles and parting of the seas. seems no one gained the ability to write until the 30th easter. its funny religious people dont seem to get that their story is the same Hero story told spanning hundreds of years from Egyptians to the Greeks. in a world like it is. i understand the frustrations, but i find it better looking at the beauty of nature and the 1 in a million chance that i get to live in it. i used to be a christian but have been an atheist since i decided to question WHY at 14y/o.

I am a scientist and yes I do require proof to 'believe' in anything. Give me just one shred of evidence for the existence of your god (or anyone else's god- is there a difference) and I might just consider it more than a fairy story. Until then I'll remain the atheist I've been since, as lip put it 'I decided to question WHY at 14y/o'

Ok, everyone give up with your faith in anything, because it is scientifically impossible, even if god were the creator, or what ever, who was the creator of him.
How did he come to exist? did your mom make him?
So who cares if he was or was not the creator of the universe, who created him; it's just like asking who your mom's mom is, and who your mom's mom's mom. It is unlimited. think of it this way, who was your infinite mother.

Being an "atheist" means to simply accept reality as it appears. It's that simple. It's all the religious adherents who have created tales of the fantastic which require them to have "faith" in and "believe." The word atheist should not even exist. It doesn't really mean anything. This is the universe and we accept it as is. "Believers" have added powerful fictitious deities and tales of might and magic as imaginary aspects to what already exists. YOU are the ones who cannot prove your beliefs. I have no beliefs so there is nothing for me to prove.
